In the U.K., certain financial advisers may be regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). In the U.S., a student must master 100 financial planning topics and take a 10-hour exam to qualify as a C.F.P. In India, the C.F.P. course is typically completed over two years, or one year on a fast track.
