Debt Counselling
In the U.K., help is available from services including the National Debtline, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service and the Citizens Advice Bureau. They can also help negotiate payment plans with credit-card companies and other lenders for those who are in financial difficulty. In other countries, debt counselling is a new-and increasingly popular-service. One reason is that while loans and credit cards have proliferated in those countries, their users' understanding of the costs involved has not grown at a commensurate pace.
