Attachment of Earnings Order
In the U.K., if a former spouse fails to pay child support or spousal maintenance, a court can recover the money owed to the recipient parent through an attachment of earnings order. This is a legal proceeding by which a portion of the payer's wages is automatically withheld to pay the debt.
