Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance is an arrangement in which an insurance company agrees to pay your medical expenses in exchange for premiums paid by you, your employer or both. Even in countries where health-care costs are covered by the government, paying for more (or, some feel, better) coverage is common. More than 6 million people in the U.K., for instance, are covered by private health insurance, according to the Association of British Insurers. Investment in private health insurance is on the rise in countries such as India; while fewer than 10% of Indians currently have any form of health insurance, the sector is growing rapidly.
