Completion of Purchase
The date of completion ("closing") is agreed between the buyer and seller on the date the contract becomes binding, i.e. is exchanged, and that date is put into the contract. Completion of the transfer of the house has to take place on that day with the balance of the purchase price being paid on that date. The seller needs to make sure he/she has vacated the house on that date and removed all the furniture etc, other than any items agreed to be left as per the contract.
