Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Trainee solicitors are amongst the highest-paid graduates in the U.K., according to the Association of Graduate Recruiters. It found that trainee solicitors earned about £36,500 per year in 2008, more than investment bankers. Senior solicitors earn above £50,000 per year. Outside the U.S., the most common degree for a lawyer is the Bachelor of Laws with an LL.B. credential, which is an abbreviation of Legum Baccalaureus. Possession of an LL.B. is a requirement for candidacy for the bar association or law society.
